Bus Rides

I discovered something while making the trek to Washington D.C. for Thanksgiving.  I love riding the bus.  If I could find a way to simulate the feeling of riding the bus I think it would be an overall improvement for my life.  I feel relaxed.  There is something about the speed, and the feeling of the seat pressed into my back that is relaxing to me.  I don't know about everybody else, but the second I set out on a bus ride, I fall asleep for approximately one hour.  Immediately.  I hear a lot of positive reviews of train travel, and I have tried it, but for me it is just not as great as riding the bus.  There is something comforting about the confinement, the feeling of being compressed and packaged into a tiny little space -- a space where you cannot move even if you want to.  Also, I really like the scenery.  The industrial wastelands, the no-man's-land that border the highways, the trip from New York to D.C. was breathtaking.  That being said, I scored a window seat on both routes so maybe I would not be writing such a glowing review had I not had the window to sleep on/ look out of, and if someone had been clamoring over me to get to the bathroom.  Anyways, it was really great.  If only I had brought my camera, I would have had pictures to post.  But alas, I regretfully left that hunk of technology behind.  You better believe that won't be happening next time.  I am even thinking of taking a bus trip to D.C. or Baltimore for the sole purpose of completing a photographic series documenting such a picturesque stretch of highway.  So maybe images will appear in future posts.

Anyways, Happy Thanksgiving and let me know if anyone out there has created a bus-ride simulator.
